Rickshaw owners can be proud owners - decorating their rickshaws with pretty pictures or graphic art, most of it quite colourful. This sense of ownership and pride is more often seen on trucks, but here are a few rickshaws in the city of Dacca, in Bangladesh.

Venice Skyline Silhouettes

These are black and white silhouettes of Venice's Skyline - based on photographs taken at different points in the city. Venice, located in the Venetian Lagoon, is a beautiful city between the mouths of the River Po and the Piave.

This Venice silhouette represents a very famous area, a typical Venice scene with the outline of its domes and churches, with the river in the foreground. The floating buildings are on each side.

This silhouette is done in a different style from the one above and represents the same scene. It is darker, with the sky in black as well.

Tall palm trees silhouettes

These are silhouettes of tall coconut palms and higher resolution silhouettes are available.

This one is a simple black and white silhouette with the spindly and long trees reaching up to the sky. Their height can be gauged by the smaller trees at the base of the image.

It's amazing the different ways birds fly and nothing makes it starkly obvious that black silhouettes against a white background. They are sea gulls of some sort as all these pictures were taken on a beach.

Sunsets on Lake Vembanad in Kerala

The warm colors that you see in these photographs are very genuine. The sunset we saw on Lake Vembanad was colourful with oranges and yellows fading into darkness. In the foreground you can see fishing boats silhouetted against the fading sky.
