Nature Scenes from Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania, Africa

Dar-es-Salaam is not the capital of Tanzania, but it is certainly the most beautiful city in the country. Residential areas like those in the Msasani Peninsula are breathtakingly beautiful. The photographs below have been shot from the Oyster Bay area, part of the peninsula. Some of them can be used for header images.

The photo below shows the road leading to Oyster Bay. You can see the houses at the far end of the road.

  1. Hi Nita,

Do you know when these photos were taken?
I live in Dar and am involved with Nipe Fagio - an organisation that is trying to change behaviour around environmental issues and green spaces.
I would like to go back to these positions and retake the photos to highlight the degradation of the landscape over time.

Let me know if you are happy with us using the images for this purpose and to try to lobby for preservation and less car traffic on the beach.

    Many thanks
    Anton

  2. Hi Anton. For the purpose you mentioned I have no objection if you use the photos. These photographs were taken in the year 2001.I do not have an exact date because they were not taken from a digital camera. Some years later I transferred these photos onto a cd and downloaded them to my computer. But the year is correct.
