These photographs were taken on the streets of Pune in the Cantonment area. They are patchwork quilts/bedcovers as well as cloth bags with wooden handles. Quite colourful. Perhaps textile designers would find these an interesting reference.
As the work is done by hand these items tend to be expensive. However they are much cheaper on the streets than in the Emporiums. These products are meant for foreign tourists.
This last picture shows hand-made sleeveless jackets. Again sewn together by using the patchwork technique. No item is exactly identical to another.
These kind of clothes and bedcovers need to be dry-cleaned and thus expensive to maintain.
